"BIRTH OF OUR Baby boy- an amazing journey"

We came in on the morning of 26th July as my wife had intense and frequent contractions. She was in early labour. We were attended to and seen by a midwife immediately. Who was so friendly yet professional and described to my wife exactly what she may feel, the midwife was empathetic and reassuring and gave my wife great confidence. My wife was fully dilated fairly quickly and wanted a natural waterbirth. They took her birth plan into high consideration The birth room was available within 10 minutes of her being fully dilated and we were rushed in. We were met by a couple of friendly midwives there. I cannot tell you how amazing they were for the 3 and a half hours of labour. They provided her with the strength to push and carry on when all she wanted to do was stop. You could tell they loved their job and i cant praise them enough. They made you feel like you were in a private birthing centre. The birthing room was spotless and very spacious. It was as cosy as a hotel room. Our beautiful baby boy was born with no issues. Unfortunately my wife's placenta was retained and she had to have a spinal block to remove it. She was obviously very nervous about this but again, a different team were just as good as the previous team. After her procedure, the doctor and nurses all came and met her to see how she was. She had to stay in for the night at the labour ward and they all came to see her the next day too. The midwife at night in the labour ward was fantastic. They helped my wife to breast feed and even change the nappy! I cant tell you how pleased we are to choose north middx for the birth of our baby boy. i would recommend it to all friends and family. This is proof that the NHS is fantastic.Well done to all the staff involved, I cant thank you enough!
