I visited a friend several weekends ago who was admitted as an emergency to QEUH level 9 from NHS 24 at the Victoria Infirmary. She required an emergency endoscopy, IV antibiotics and pain relief. The medical and nursing care she received was first class and everyone from the domestic to the kitchen staff were polite and courteous and went the extra mile. When I visited on Sunday she was quite unwell however after being allowed to stay with her most of the afternoon and early evening - I was able to assist with mobilising and personal care - I felt no qualms about leaving her until she was ready for discharge on the Monday as the staff were attentive and kept her well informed of all that was going on. 10/10 to everyone involved and thank you. Made me proud to be an NHS worker.
