"Visit to Crawley hospital"

I recently had to have injections into my right foot. I had the same done in December last year and my experience in the day unit was most upsetting, including being taken through the men's ward and being told off for it, plus the lack of information, so understandably I was not looking forward to it.

This time however was a different experience. I had a nurse called Saritha assigned to me. I explained that although I am used to working in a hospital environment I have panic attacks being admitted as a patient, this is due to an RTA I was involved in many years ago where I was seriously injured and lost 2 friends. It's something I can't seem to control, I panic with ambulances and sirens etc, I wish it didn't happen but I can't seem to control it. Saritha was most kind, the anaesthetist was lovely as were the surgeons so I can't thank them all enough. I know it must be a nuisance having a patient like myself, I do try and keep my fears under control but I think at this age I've got these attacks for life. I'd like my thanks passed on to the team involved, unfortunately the injections don't seem to have had a huge effect but I will be seeing the consultant in due course and will take it from there.
