"Ward 29 general hospital"

About: Leicester General Hospital / Gastroenterology Leicester Royal Infirmary / Gastroenterology Leicestershire and Lincolnshire

(as the patient),

My problem started last February 2016, I felt unwell on two occasions, was rushed to A&E at the Royal infirmary Leicester and my heart was checked and I was told everything is ok and given pain killers to deal with stomach pain.

I started to feel severe pain in my stomach and my back after eating, after few visits to my GP and walking centre at the Royal infirmary my dosage of PPI (proton pump inhibitors) was put up, I suffered with acid reflux for years.

The pain didn't stop, one night the pain was so bad that 4 tablets of pain killers (codeine) didn't stop it! The next day I went to the Royal infirmary, I was admitted into ward 29 at the general hospital. I spent 4 nights there, I had X-Ray, ultra-sound, ct scan, and endoscopy and after every test I was told I have no problem at all! ! In fact, the consultant told me to stop taking my my medication (I think this means they didn't even bother reading my file!) I was given pain killers and told to go home!

A week after, I went to my GP and they told me that the ct scan showed that I have non-alcoholic fatty lever and a sliding hiatus hernia! And they told me that this condition is not dangerous and should not cause any symptoms! I told them I feel very bad pain sometimes plus other symptoms and their reply was nothing wrong with you carry on taking the medication! I started to seek help privately, went to a private consultant and paid for a ph manometry test (this took few months) and the result was clearly that my reflux is bad even with a high dosage of PPI and the surgeon offered me a surgery to stop the reflux and repair my hernia but the price is very high! So now I need to find this money somehow to pay for this surgery so I can live a normal life again! !
After nearly 20 years of working and paying taxes into the system I am left up to beg and try to put my hand on this enormous amount of money! ! I think it's absolutely disgusting.
