"Just a superb hospital"

About: Orthopaedics & Spine Specialist Hospital Site

I went to my GP with sciatic pain 1/4/2016, on 26/7/2016 I had an operation to remove part of a slipped disc and the following day I was back home with no pain either in the leg or back.

I am very impressed with the speed of the process from GP to consultant to MRI scan to surgeon.

The surgeon at the spinal hospital is simply brilliant...from the initial greeting in the reception at the first consultation until the visit to my room on the day of discharge they have been understanding, sympathetic and caring. The surgeon went through the options and made a recommendation which I understood and accepted.

Judging by the complete lack of pain since I came round from the operation they must be a superb surgeon as well.

Not only that, it is obvious that all the staff I chatted with have the greatest of respect for them as a surgeon and as a boss.

The anaesthetists understood my concerns about nausea after the surgery and gave me something that meant I had no sickness at all and was able to eat a snack when I came round and another meal in the evening.

The food was excellent, three meals including the cooked breakfast the following morning.

Finally, the nurses on the ward could not have been friendlier or more helpful.

they were waiting for me in reception when I arrived on the morning of the operation and took me straight to my room.

During the next 28 hours, all the nurses, doctor and physiotherapist who came to see me showed the same level of care. I simply cannot thank them or praise them enough.

I hope I don't have another slipped disc...but if I do I know where I'd want to go to get it sorted!
