"fracture clinic"

About: Warrington Hospital

I'm a big beliver in the nhs and will always support it, however this whole process has been awful. I went to Halton hospital initially and they were fantastic I was seen, xrayed and plastered up in 2hrs on a weekend! Fab ..but I was told I need to go for a check to warrington the week later. I had to get a lift as I couldn't drive and I had a 3.30 appointment by 5 I still hadn't been seen so I asked and was told it would be another 90 mins but I would need to go for another xray and come back down again to wait to be seen ..I told them I couldn't wait any longer due to the lift I had waiting outside and left. 8 weeks later I get a letter to come back in again ..again at 3.30..the waiting room was really quiet but no one was getting seen? I was finally allowed to see a doctor at 5.10 only after I chased this up ...I don't think they read my notes.. I know they hadn't checked my xray ..after a 5 min consultation the doctor said 'we can operate if you want' or leave it and will sort itself out in 9 months?! I have no idea what the operation entailed or if it was needed or not?

They just said if I want the op to come back again and sort it at a later date!

And do the whole process again ...it seems warrington hospital aren't concerned about actually correctly treating the patients in the most effective efficent way ..just come in and stay as long as they can get away with then send u back out again in the same condition?

I know I'm the fracture clinic they have a few docs on and appointments arranged but if a&e get a fracture this take priority and they sent it up to fractures and everyone on a pre planned appt has to be delayed ...this is awful planning and doesn't actually work. The docs in the fracture clinic should work on pre booked appointmens only. If someone goes to a&e and needs to be seen for a brake or fracture they should have a doc in a&e to deal with this ..that would mean a better service to your patients a quicker turn around meaning more parking spaces avaliable ...its left arm really doesn't know what it's right arm is doing and more importantly I have a very sore damaged swollen ankle that hasn't been fixed and I don't even know if I should get an operation or how to arrange that
