"Waiting times being altered."

About: Ninewells Hospital

(as the patient),

I received a letter this morning stating that the 12 week maximum waiting time for an operation for various reasons can not be achieved at Ninewells Hospital. My question is, Has the legislation passed in the Scottish Parliament been amended or do individual hospitals have the powers to overrule this legislation?

Dear "Secundus"

Thank you for taking the time to contact us via Patient Opinion. I am sorry you have been advised that NHS Tayside is unable to achieve the 12 week standard. NHS Tayside makes every effort to comply with the Scottish Government’s 12 week Treatment Time Guarantee, however are unable to achieve this target for all of our services. Where we are currently unable to achieve the standard we are reviewing our services and the factors that led to this target being breached to see what can be improved. Should you wish us to investigate your concern in more detail, please contact the Complaints and Feedback Team on 0800 027 5507 (freephone) or via email to feedback.tayside@nhs.net
