"Outstanding care at QMC"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / General medicine Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Ophthalmology

(as a parent/guardian),

I took my 10 year old daughter who woke unable to open her eye due to an insect bite a few days before. The nursing staff in A & E were amazing. They explained everything to us and were quick in diagnosing her condition and administering her first IV antibiotics. The staff on wards E38 and E40 gave exceptional care. They couldn't do enough for us and made sure we were comfortable and that we had everything we needed. My daughter has never had to visit A & E before or be an inpatient and as parents we were very anxious. NUH should be very proud of the medical team they have.

It’s good to know you’re so happy with your daughter’s care. I’ve shared your comments with staff. I hope your daughter’s eye is healing nicely.

You might be interested to know that nominations are open for our annual staff NUHonours awards. Should you wish to nominate someone from your daughter’s care you can do so via our website (your nomination would fall under the Family Health division award): https://www.nuh.nhs.uk/nuhonours

Best wishes,

Kerry Webb.

Matron, Nottingham Children’s Hospital.
