"Outpatients appointment- waiting for a referral"

I have been waiting for a referral appointment for 6 months now to the gyn surgeons. It seems impossible to get through - every time I phone no-one answers the phone. I have ended up phoning someone else who was more helpful in telling me that there was a discharge summary from March- the last time I was an impatient was November! It is now getting beyond a joke as my referral seems to have vanished into thin air and the person I need to speak to doesn't answer the phone. So much for the 12 week wait to be seen.
