About: Wythenshawe Hospital

I'm currenlty very fustrated. Let me explain. On the 11th of this month my mother had some surgery which involved taking a skin graft from her thigh. Since Friday night the graft wound has been seeping and throbbing. The dressings became sodden and liquids from the wound began leaking out. Having been provided with a letter for the ditrict nurses I attempted to arrange for a district nurse to treat and re dress the wound. Sunday morning currently 10:37am I am still trying to arrange for a district nurse but with no hope insight. Saturday afternoon I started by contacting our local district nurses, who directed me back to Wythenshaw who then directed me to a number where the only option was to leave a non urgent message. I then rang 111 for advice. After a process spanning over a few hours. My 74 yr old mother was seen by a GP at an OOH surgery at 23:50 pm. The GP checked the wound, prescribed some anti biotics and refered me back to the local treatment service for the next day. I contacted this service this morning and was refered back to Wythenshaw as the local treatment service needed a referal before doing any treatment. Wythenshaw advised that as my mother was cared for by the day ward there was no one available until Monday. to say the very leased I am very dis-heartened. I don't know whether these reviews are responded to but I will leave details on the off chance they are.
