"I was in hospital to get a cyst ..."

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was in hospital to get a cyst removed and all in all, from day surgery to the ward, it was a positive and pleasant experience. The staff were very friendly and tried to make me feel comfortable at all times. Even though they seem slightly overworked, they didn't let it show.

I would like to thank the nurses on the South ward, Level 9, Millenium Wing for taking good care of me. You are doing a great job, keep it up.

The food was also surprisingly good.

The only negative experience I had was when my morphine ran out, which left me in severe pain for half an hour while someone was trying to get some more. Don't know whose fault that was....

Also, being discharged seemed a bit rushed, but maybe that was because it was on a Sunday.

What could be improved

More members of staff. Maybe have some health assistants help out on the wards to support the nurses.

Thank you for your feedback which will be passed on to the nurses who work on South Ward. Our nurses work hard in an often busy environment so support and thanks from patients is always appreciated. We hope you are recovering well.
