I have been suffering with problems in my neck/shoulders on and off for many years. I was referred to the physiotherapy department at New Cross hospital by my GP. My first appointment was very positive and I felt confident of my rehabilitation. However, on my second appointment I feel I was not listened to. I was asked to perform exercises that caused severe pain. I notified the Physiotherapist at the time and was told 'I had to push through the pain'. I have been to physio before and have never heard this. I am now in constant pain - with a constant severe burning down my neck and arm into my fingertips and painful movement in my neck. I am in a worse state than when I started. This has effected me both physically and emotionally. I will not be returning, physio is not a one-size fits all rehabilitation and therefore patients should be listened to. I am extremely disappointed. I will be finding a new Physiotherapist.
