"My colonoscopy"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / General Surgery

(as the patient),

Last Tuesday I had a follow up colonoscopy after 3 years, at Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline. On entering the unit I was impressed by the cleanliness and how bright and airy the surroundings were. The nursing staff were friendly and attentive and I hardly felt the cannula being inserted in my arm. After my procedure was completed, I was given a choice of sandwiches and tea or coffee which was much appreciated after having been without food for 24 hours. The staff certainly knew their jobs and I appreciate how lucky we are to have such a great NHS.

Dear LWBH68

Thanks for taking the time to post your kind comments. I agree the Endoscopy Unit is lovely and you would have noticed a big difference from the last time you were in.

Coming for an Endoscopy can be a daunting experience and it was good to know that our staff made this better for you, especially the pain free cannula!

I will gladly share your post with the staff now and I'm sure that your feedback will make their day.

Kind regards

Gill Ogden
