"Horrible experience with the admin and the doctor."

I have just gone through a very simple lipoma removal operation.

My bad experience with this hospital started even before the procedure.

I was astonished by the disorganised manner the hospital admin staff operated; I had already taken MRI scan leading up to the surgery the week before as requested by the doctor, but the results were not shared between the departments, which resulted in the "senior medical secretary" asking me to conform if I had already booked the scan, as "the surgeon would not go with the procedure without examining it". I made a complaint to the CEO of this hospital, and I received a nice call from someone who claimed to belong to the organisation.

On the the day of procedure, the hospital asked me to come 30 mins earlier by email which I did, after reorganising my personal plans.

On arrival, the surgeon swiftly explained to me the procedure and went on to put me on a local anesthia.

I had a lipoma on the left side of the back of my neck, which was about 2 cm.

The doctor made me lie down with my face down on the procedure chair in the most uncomfortable position and went on to deal with the removal of the lipoma. During this procedure this doctor did not ask me even once If I was in any pain- to be honest i had a lot of stinging when they were cutting into a part of the area. I would have no idea if that was normal or not as it was my first ever operation.

They basically cut almost the entire width of the back of my neck, stitched it up and left me to an assistance (who by the way was very polite and nice), just after leaving me with a few suggestions about about how to take pain medication.

I sent an email to the Dr's secretary to ask how long I should avoid taking shower and also doing exercise.

The secretary responded and said the doctor would get back to me after surgery, which never happened and its Friday night.

I just cannot help but wonder what is the point of paying more for the private hospital like this.

I have had much better experiences with A&E and local GPs.
