"Very poor hygeine at Manor Hospital, Walsall"

About: Manor Hospital

(as the patient),

Filthy corridors - my opinion after visiting a relative every day for over 2 weeks. Don't think the corridor was cleaned once during this time. Underwear lay in the corridor for 2 days before it was moved.

A nurse tried to put a drip into my partner's hand, that had somebody else's dried blood on it.

The nursing staff I met did not treat my relative with dignity, and would not share information with the next of kin.

We apologise for the delay in responding to your comments - we have only just begun to use Patient Opinion which is why we have not responded to you until now. We are very sorry that your experience of the Manor was not a positive one. I would like to reassure you that we take cleanliness very seriously and our wards and corridors are cleaned on a daily basis and more so if necessary. Over the past two years we have put considerable effort into ensuring that all patients and families are treated with dignity and their privacy is maintained at all times.
