"Tramautised"

I had to have a routine op last June. I have dyspraxia and although this op was hopefully going to be straightforward I had had problems prior and I was terrified. My consultant was amazing,they recognised my particular predicaments ~ we had made an agreement and had a plan in place.

The minute I got to day case,I was harried and hassled. The staff were rude and the particular *Nurse* assigned to me was horrid. Told me to get undressed, in front of a young man, and this made my BP shoot up. That's just one example of how awful it was. Horrific. Couldn't even be bothered to read the extensive notes my consultant & I had taken time to draw up. I saw the notes they left in my records and they were nothing but moaning about how *awkward* I was being. I am very very sorry if that's the impression I gave but was terrified and not being listened to.

Every single word they said made it worse. I was belittled. I was dehumanised. I am sure that most nurses are better than this one but I would never recommend Hereford Hospital to anyone. There was no need to examine me prior to my op,my consultant agreed and they wrote in my notes to this effect...however,this nurse knew better. This really needs to be addressed. People turning up at a hospital are usually anxious and I think that they should employ people that are aware of this. The consultant as I said was a true professional and one of the other nurses was lovely also so it's not all of them x x
