Arrived at 4am, in severe pain, and was told I'd have to wait about an hour to see a doctor. At 6am I asked for an update and they said I'd have to wait 7 hours. The target is 4 hours. The reception staff were so rude and scowled at me.

Unfortunately yesterday our Accident and Emergency Department yesterday was experiencing high numbers of attendees, which resulted in long waits as patients were assessed on clinical priority. The wait was at 7 hours at one point, which was unavoidable as we had acutely unwell patients within the Majors department. We are sorry that you felt that our reception staff were rude in their approach to you and this will be feedback to their manager.
