"Fell of horse and had a open fracture"

About: North Bristol NHS Trust

I had to go in surgery due to horse accident, fell of horse and had a open fracture and managed to brake two bones in half! But when I went into surgery I was kept calm by the people that I met as my mum couldn't come in il also 18 but the surgeon I met that was going to do my opp was really nice and they all kept me calm. After a few hours and I got around I met new nhs everyday, they where really nice and friendly and caring I really enjoyed being there with them because I knew that's where I was recovering. Food was nice. The room was nice I had you had your own toilet to get to when you ask for help due to me needing assistance to get there and back because I'm on a zoomer frame but I'm happy that I made a little progress at the hospital! Thankyou to all the nhs that cheered me up when I was feeling impositive I really appreciate the help and it will be the ones who know who I was in the hospital! Also this catering person that comes round to serves us breakfast, they really helped my mum and dad with parking so it was really nice I would recommend my friends family to go there if they needed surgery or if they had an accident like I had it was good !!!

Dear Anonymous – I was sorry to learn of your unfortunate accident but pleasedthat you had good care and support from all the staff and they treated you empathetically and with kindness.

I also want to thank you for your kind comments about the food, and parking as these vital areas of support are often overlooked.

I am grateful to you for taking the time and trouble to provide such positive comments about your inpatient stay at Southmead hospital and for your endorsement of all the services you experienced.

I sincerely hope you continue to make a good recovery and that you are soon able to resume your riding.

Kind regards – Steve Sykes
