I was given a last minute appointment for a hysteroscopy and was initially pleased to be seen so quickly.
I had see a consultant the week before and was told it could be done under a GA but I was not fully informed of how painful the procedure could be. I was informed I would feel period like pains.
I arrived at the clinic and again told the pain would be similar to period pain.
Due to having this because of painful periods I was expecting some pain but what I felt was beyond anything I have ever felt in my life.
The procedure took around 20 minutes to complete and I never want to go through this again.
I would like to add I wear a morphine based pain patch and when with this I could not believe how painful it was.
I am shocked that these procedures are being carried out without any pain relieve or even being offered anything after the procedure.
I feel I have been lied to about how painful this hysteroscopy could be and really only to save money and time.
If I had been given the true facts I would have been able to make a better choice for myself. I feel really let down by the lack of honesty.
