"waiting times"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

I was given an appointment at half past midnight, to the primary care unit in the urgent care department. when I arrived in was told they were an hour behind... but there were only 5people waiting to be seen, nobody was called for nearly an hour in that time we also saw no one leave the consultation rooms leaving me to believe the doctors were not seeing anyone in this time we were waiting. Especially since once people were called they were seen quite quickly. once I was seen the doctor didn't ask me about other medications I was on before prescribing me something and didn't really examine me at all. The doctor also gave me no warnings about the medications as they should have, essentially the doctor didn't do their job.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent experience of the Primary Care Unit. Whilst this unit is located within Blackpool Teaching Hospitals it is not a service managed by the Hospital. I am however sorry that the experience you described was not the one you would have expected.

I will share this directly with the team involved in providing this service so that they can learn from your experience.
