"Mr JA Brown Patient 12 July 2016"

About: Royal Preston Hospital

I have no good words to say about the staff who seemed uninterested in anything my wife had to say to them, nor do i have anything good to say about the way in which i was treated as my colostomy bag had disengaged my wife told the staff they had a 2 hr window to reinsert it before it healed and not one member of staff took heed i am now faced with the prospect of a local anesthetic and insertion during another procedure. I am on warfen which will now suffer i have had infections constantly due to the bag being used. The staff seemed unhelpful at all times, my wife brought in my medication with a easy to follow plan of how it had to be used not one nurse gave me any of it at any time, this is not the first very very poor experience we have had at this hospital infact we have not had any good experiences in their i dread it when we have to go. When a ward nurse came to fit a temporary bag the nurse asked my wife if she had the bag with her and the securing straps "do we have to bring our own medical supplies now" when we were eventually allowed home i stripped off to get a shower only to find your nurses had left the canular in my arm - if they cant do the basic things right how am i supposed to trust they will get the more complicated things correct i will be writing a lengthy letter to the care commission and to the head of your terrible hospital and i will be demanding a response to that letter because i feel absolutely disgusted with the treatment time after time.

I was located in ward 17 neurology apparently it was the only place with a spare bed.
