"Finally someone listened!"

I have been treated as an outpatient here many times now (it started as a second opinion request from me to my GP)

It was a bit of a wait, but it is well worth it.

Everyone from the domestic staff through to the consultants we friendly and welcoming.

I felt like I was finally being listened to.

A lot of these diseases are not 'seen' by others, and patients like me feel like we are not believed.

I was believed here.

The consultant even understood when I told them that my hair hurt!

They are very thorough too. I have had bloods, scans, all sorts done, and in a fairly timely fashion as I am an 'out of area' patient.

8 weeks from being seen initially, then all the tests done, and then being seen again I don't think is bad at all.

The disabled access and facilities is very good, considering the hospital is a very old building and has had to be adapted. The toilets are clean, there is plenty of hand gel available, the only thing that lets it down is the lack of parking on site.

That said, I take the train, and there are plenty of busses, or a quick taxi ride and your there.

There are a lot of car parks near by.

I really would recommend going if you get the chance.

Rheumatology is all they do and they know their stuff!

We thank you for your comments about your recent care at the RUH and will forward these on to the Rheumatology team who, we are sure, will be very grateful for your kind words.
