What I liked
I have had treatment at the Whittington on a number of occasions over the years: my daughter was born there;I was treated for cancer there and recently underwent an operation on my neck. I have always found the care to be excellent and the doctors and staff to be kind and caring. I've always felt I was in good hands. I especially liked the kindness and humour of nurses when I had cancer care. It made be feel like a person and not just an anxious patient.
What could be improved
On my recent visit, there were agency nurses who did not seem to know all the hospital systems including the discharge system, and I would have missed the discharge deadline if the pharmacist had not alerted them to the need to obtain doctors signatures for medication etc. Better briefing for agency nurses (a checklist?) might be useful.
Anything else?
I feel I owe my life to the Whittington. I can't thank them enough
