"It's been a great experience"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care (Wards 21-24)

(as a parent/guardian),

I have recently given birth to my beautiful baby daughter and had the most wonderful experience in Ward 24. The midwives have all been amazing and the maternity care assistants/breastfeeding support have been so supportive. My midwife Cheryl was just a pleasure and having read my maternity notes she helped me to have the labour that I so wanted. I don't think I was the easiest of patients, but she stuck with me and it worked. I honestly cannot praise her enough. I should say there were many other midwives I was in contact with and all were compassionate, professional as well as that hint of a personal touch. Breastfeeding support (Mary) sat with me throughout the night to help me breastfeed, again something that I so desired to try. It's been a great experience!

Dear JC2016

Thank you so much for your lovely comments in regards to the staff of ward 24 in maternity at Wishaw General Hospital.

I am so pleased to hear you had a wonderful experience and that you were shown both professional and compassionate care by all staff during and after the birth of your daughter.

I am glad Cheryl supported you during your labour to give you the experience that you wanted. The relationship between a midwife and woman is special at all times but none more than at the delivery of your child.

I am glad to hear of the excellent support you received in relation to your breastfeeding and that there was time spent with you to help with any worries that you had and support to help you to continue to breast feed.

Please be assured I will share this lovely post with all the staff in ward 24 and ensure both Cheryl and Mary are given a copy of their own.

Many thanks again for your positive feedback

I hope you and your daughter are doing well with not too many sleepless nights

Kind Regards

Lyn
