I attended an appointment for surgery and was separated from the others and told to sit in reception . I sat there for over 8 hours only to be told that my operation was cancelled . I got little information whilst I sat there and I had to ask the reception staff what was going on. Next day I had a serious operation and was in great pain the whole of that evening and into the next day. At 2pm several physio's came round and told me they wanted to check on how I was getting on. I told them I was in a great deal of pain and that I wanted to stay in bed. They left and 5 mins later a member of staff came round and told me to do the physio as I was leaving in half an hour. I could not believe what they then said " this is the NHS and not a private hospital " I could not believe it , I only had my operation 24 hrs before. Anyway I left as requested astounded by their attitude . They would not even arrange a lift for me but would book a taxi!! They have done the bare minimum required . I will see what happens with my aftercare.
