"Waiting times not acceptable"

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

There should be more staff to see to people waiting time of 6 hrs in not acceptable for anyone on a monday.

Rather sit at home and suffer in pain, than wait in this place. We pay thousands in taxes and seems to be wasted money on posh looking buildings instead of investing in staff levels.

We're sorry you had to wait longer to be seen at the New QEII's urgent care centre.

From your comment, we presume that you are referring to Monday, 11 July - which was very busy for A&E/urgent care services across the region and not just at our hospitals.

Although we have invested in more doctors and nurses working in these services, they were still stretched by the numbers of people turning up seeking help on Monday.

If you would like to speak with one of our senior nursing colleagues in the emergency medicine team to discuss your concerns, then we would be more than happy to arrange that - just email us at generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net and we will organise that for you.

In the meantime (and despite the long wait you had to be seen), we do hope that you are feeling now.
