I wrote this whilst on the unit, and I stand by what I've written. I'm angered by the shocking lack of care and concerned for others....I'm being punished, screamed at and chastised for wasting time while there's short staff. Threatened with injection or restraint often and unnecessarily. The ward is characterised by violence, screaming, theft and cries for help. Staff clearly don't read care notes, often get medication wrong, fall asleep on obs and are overall rude and belittling. We are treated like animals. We rarely get our escorted leave for fresh air. I've never been offered a 'talk'. I get woken to violent banging on my door and fall asleep to staff discussing other patients. I've been ignored mostly, spat at, injected, humiliated in my most vulnerable state and denied basic human rights at the cost of staffing or, from what I've seen, tiredness and anger. This unit needs reviewing urgently.
