"Stressful labour, but caring midwives at DRI"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I gave birth at Doncaster Women's Hospital, on ward M2. I spent 14 hours in the delivery suit, the first two midwives were good. The last was fantastic, she stayed with me throughout my labour and made a big difference.

I think there should be more checks and training about changing nappies, bathing, etc. I would have liked it if doctors had been a little more friendly. Also the support assistants (one in particular), could have had a better attitude and shown more patience.

After a long, trying and fairly stressful labour, the lack of friendliness from the doctor and the attitude of the health assistant did upset me.

I would like to thank Sharon Farnsworth, the Senior Midwife and all the staff in the delivery suit.
