"person centred care throughout, well oiled..."

Spent 6 days in Oak ward after admission via A & E. Never been to this hospital before.So much friendlier, cleaner and informative than any other hospital in the SE London Area. I was very frightened when taken ill so suddenly, I was kept informed and reassured throughout my stay. Friendly staff always referred to me by name not a bed number or medical condition. Saw doctors at least once a day. Obs, bloods medication all delivered in timely fashion. Domestic and catering team very friendly and caring, side room I needed to be nursed in was spotless and cleaned daily as was the main ward throughout. I had no nightwear or washing equipment with me due to sudden onset of illness. This was never a problem. As a person in her sixties I was becoming increasingly worried about our local hospitals as my husband and I get older. My faith in NHS is restored as long as I am able to use Darent Valley.
