"Journey's end."

Our mum was transferred from Moseley Hall to the Sheldon unit after finally being diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer. She’d been in Hospital for over 3 months and when the final scan revealed what we’d feared she was moved with speed to the unit.

Thank goodness this happened as she only with us for one week after the move. In that brief time, however, she was in a caring, private and peaceful environment, something she had not had much in the last months of her life. We found the staff to be attentive, caring and friendly and she passed her last days with dignity, free of pain and fear.

A big thank you to the dedicated staff who give so much, it’s very appreciated.

Dear Andrew

I am so sorry for your loss, and hope you are able to take strength from the knowledge that your mum's last week was private, peaceful and dignified.

The team at the Sheldon Unit provide the best care possible for patients at the end of their life, and support families as much as possible.

Your words help us to know that the care during your mother's last week was how we would have wanted it to be, and your comments will be shared with the team.
