"Waiting for bed."

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

My husband had a follow up appointment after a case of septic arthritis surgery. Unfortunately on the morning of his appointment his legs had lost all feeling. On arrival at his appointment he was sent for a back xray which showed spinal problems. By this time he was vomiting, had a fever, was in immense pain from his back and had to wait 7 hours in the waiting room for a bed on Ward 27.

Following this, less than 24 hours he was transferred to LGI late at night as his spine was completely shattered.

The service was disgraceful as this problem could have led to complete paralysis.

Hello, first of I must apologise for the delay in replying - there has been a problem with the site notifying us when someone posts a review, which we have just become aware of. We do value all comments from our patients and take them seriously. What you describe is very concerning, and we will be making the matron for the area and the senior staff on the ward aware of your comments. It would be very helpful if you could contact us so we can investigate your experience properly and make sure arrangements for your appointment and treatment are in place. If you would like to contact us, the patient experience manager would be happy to talk to you. The number to contact is 01274364810.

If you call when the office is closed or no-one is available to take your call, please do leave your name and number and we will call you back as soon as possible. Thank you.
