This review is on behalf of my mother, who underwent a hip replacement on 28th June at Charing Cross.
It took quite a while to get on to the waiting list, so from an initial wait from August 2015 to operation in June 2016 is quite a long wait with her deteriorating noticeably in that time.
The results were very good though, with my mother now out of pain (almost immediately after the operation).
Previous hip operation 10 years ago left her in more pain than she had to start with and one leg shorter than the other.
Techniques and knowledge have improved greatly in the last 10 years, with wounds being glued rather than with visible and deep stitches.
So a big thank you to the surgeon, the surgical team and the superb nurses and other health care assistants on the orthopaedic ward.
Thank you.
