"Trip to A@E , follow up and staff unhelpfulness"

About: Weston General Hospital

Called 111 on Sunday , after 2/3 hrs had a call from a health professional , 6 hrs later the doctor came , called an ambulance to arrive within in 1 hr , arrived 4 hrs later ! Staff at A&E were uncommunicative , no one apart from one doctor introduced themselves , not even someone who appeared to be a consultant . Nurses barely spoke to us . Following tests I was issued with a prescription , we have finally found a pharmacy to dispense it , the hospital pharmacy has the item but won't dispense it as it is on a night prescription , A@E refuse to issue a day prescription without seeing me and waiting for yet hours more . Repeated phone calls have got us nowhere , none of the staff care at all . The last doctor I saw said if I am still in pain after a day or two return and I will be seen at once , seems highly unlikely when they can't even be bothered to issue adequate prescriptions

Many thanks for your feedback which we have passed on to the staff in our Emergency Department. We are sorry to hear you weren't happy with the care you received whilst with us & if you would like to discuss this matter further, we would be grateful if you would contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service ( PALS) on 01934 647216 or by emailing wnt-tr.pals@nhs.net
