"Apalling lack of duty of care"

I walked into the clinic at 16:10 with a lady I support in a residential home. She had a laceration to her forehead which I felt needed surgical glue. I was turned away because the nurse said 'they had to draw the line somewhere and they wanted to go home at 17:00 hrs.' I was told to take her to hospital. I explained that my lady had epilepsy and I didn't want her to have to wait in A&E for hours. I was still turned away. The gentleman before me was accepted for treatment as he had a swollen hand due to an insect bite. The lady after me was initially told to take her daughter to A&E with a swollen finger, but as the nurse hadn't left the clinic by the time I had supported my lady to walk back to the car, I suspect that she was accepted for treatment. If one of our clients had a seizure and I stepped over them because I wanted to go home, I would quite rightly lose my job due to negligence and lack of duty of care.
