"Admitted to ward 10 & ward 12"

About: Leighton Hospital

3 weeks ago I went to the hospital with severe right abdominal pain within the total of 5 hours I was dealt with by the gp out of hours, giving pain killers, reffered to a&e & then took up to ward 10 where the staff came to me quickly & once on the ward a surgeon came round took my blood work, cannula in, & IV fluids & painkillers, blood thinners, anti sickness started!! This was all in under an hour or two of me being on the ward!

The surgeon did sure put me at ease as this was my first time in hospital and was also funny, cheered me up!! Also the other members of staff who were taking care of me came round in the morning & throughout the day to check my condition by 3 o'clock the next day I had 2 ultrasounds done & that same night I got told I was having an operation which to me I was lucky to have such great consultant, surgeon & anathetistic to take care of me without me panicking!! This Made my hospital stay more pleasant!

Then moved to ward 12 after my laparoscopic surgery where I recovered for a further 2 days! All in all I'm so happy I got dealt with in such a timely & smiley bedside manner! Both wards have lovely staff that are always there too help, wards are clean, and glad to be part of the NHS!!! Go Leighton!! Just want to say thankyou for fixing me up as I didn't get the chance too. :)

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experiences and give us your feedback about the care you received from both the medical and nursing staff during your recent admission.

It is much appreciated by the staff when patients give us feedback on our services. Your lovely comments will be passed on to the staff on both SAU and Ward 12, and I hope you are well on the road to recovery.
