I had been referred to the podiatry department sometime in or before 2014 and, following an appointment then and the issue of orthotic insoles, was advised the best course was to manage my condition and only come back when I needed further assistance.
Today, after three calls to Southport Hospital and being sent round the houses, I eventually got through to the Podiatry Department and was told that although they have my records, I could only have an appointment if referred by the Community Podiatry Dept. I then rang the number given and it was an answerphone. I left a message asking for someone to ring me back, but I don't have much confidence they will.
Having said that, I was delighted with the treatment and advice I had on my previous appointment. My acute disappointment now is that my feet hurt and I haven't been able to get past the hospital/health admin system in order to make an appointment to do something about it!
