Last April I had the misfortune of suffering a late miscarriage which was detected at the time of a private gender scan at 18 weeks. I was sent to good hope hospital where the staff were amazing....especially the midwife who brought me in on the day of my induction. Her name was Sarah. She was truly a very special person and I felt so fortunate to have had such a genuine caring person around me during such a difficult time. You have an amazing staff member and she made what was a horrible experience into a much more positive one just by taking the time to talk to and empathise. I only regret not making my feelings and gratitude known sooner.

Firstly may I extend my sincere condolences to you for your loss, I am so very sorry to learn of your experience.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding your experience at Good Hope Hospital at such a difficult time for you. I am so pleased that you found the staff supportive, particularly Sarah who took the time to talk with you, to empathise and support you.

I will ensure that your comments are highlighted to Carol Lee, our Lead Midwife for Patient Experience, and to Maggie Coleman, Matron for Obstetrics at Good Hope Hospital, who will ensure that your comments are communicated to all of the Midwifery Team at Good Hope Hospital, and in particular, Sarah.

I hope this action is acceptable and once again thank you for posting your feedback, it is extremely important to us.
