"NEVER again"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Quite why this hospital has been allowed to expand and remain open is beyond me. The car parking charges for disabled are ridiculous and they gain more revenue by making the treatment and consultations last as long as possible. None of the staff ever appear to be unduly concerned at the long waiting times and certainly do not move any faster than they absolutely have to, that combined with the never ending gossiping sessions about who did what and when made my uncomfortable and painful visit as unpleasant as it could be.

From now on I will refuse any appointments to the Leicester Royal infirmary and will every time choose the Leicester general and the Glenfield over the LRI. At least in those hospitals the car parking is fair and the waiting for your treatment or appointment are far far shorter.

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback.

I'm disappointed to hear that you were unhappy with your experience at the Royal Infirmary.

The Fracture Clinic is an extremely busy area within the hospital and both admin and nursing staff are aware of the importance of regularly communicating with patients who are waiting regarding wait times, and try to ensure delay are kept to a minimum. Unfortunately the nature of Fracture Clinic means that emergencies happen and Doctors can be called away.

I do apologise that in this instance our high standards do not appear to have been met and I will ensure this is raised to the staff concerned. If you wish for us to investigate your complaint further, please email your name, address, date of birth and hospital number to: communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk and we can look into this for you.

Kind regards,

Carolyn Stokes,
