"Why have noisy delivery at 3am?"

An overnight stay following routine surgery. Nurses, doctors and anaesthetist excellent but why does a noisy delivery to the loading bay below ward 1 have to happen at 3am? Woken with a start at the van's reversing beep, then 30minutes of clanking as things were unloaded. Couldn't get back to sleep afterwards. Talking to the night staff, it seems this is a regular occurrence. Surely it is not beyond the wit of the hospital management to arrange deliveries outside normal sleeping hours! Seeing as patients are woken before 6am there is surely ample time, or doesn't the hospital care about 'healing sleep'?

Thank you for your positive feedback regarding clinical care, however we are very sorry that your sleep was disturbed, as we do put great value on ensuring patients get sufficient sleep and have taken a number of measures across the wards to reduce any unnecessary noise. We will review the delivery activity and see if this can be minimised, we are very grateful that you brought this to our attention. We also hope you are recovering well following your surgery.
