What I liked

I was admitted to James Cook in December 2009 after a fall on the ice which resulted in a fracture on my skull which caused a bleed and blood clot on my brain. I was exceptionally pleased with my treatment and time spent at James Cook Hospital. I found the professionalism of all the staff from the nurses, doctors, surgeons and consultants to the highest levels, and felt confident, safe and well informed from the beginning of my treatment through to my discharge. I was well informed in the progress and nature of my condition and the treatment, including the operation, and never felt worried or unsure about what was happening or why I was receiving such treatment. My treatment was also to the highest levels, and I feel that I am on the right track to recovery. I spent time on two wards, Intensive Care and the Neurology High Independency Ward, and believe that I received the highest care and treatment, which I was more than satisfied with. I was well cared for and looked after on both wards. The quality of the wards and food was very high quality, including the hygiene and cleanliness of the wards. I would like to thank all of the staff that were involved with my treatment for their care and help in my recovery.

What could be improved

I cannot fault the hospital and cannot think of any improvement as the hospital and its services are to such a high standard already.
