"Great hospital, only fault is parking"

About: Darlington Memorial Hospital

I have visited this hospital on many occassions and the staff are great, the departments are clean and its an.overall lovely place. The only thing that lets it down is the parking. We usually parl in disabled bays but in this hospital they are very linited, and sonetiens frankly dangerous to manouver round due to the ambulance drop off, taxis dropping of and cars waiting for spots. There are only a few disabled and the rest are 20 minute waits, there are times when we have had no choice after waiting for hours but to pakr in a twenty minute bay and go to our appointment to prwvwnt bewn late. Then inform reception. This must be quite common because they usually phone through explain that we have a wheelchair and parling oks it. This wouldnt have to be done if there was plenty parking provided and the parking had been bwttwr thought out.

I have just recieved another letter for another appointment and it mentions payment metres, can someone clarify whether that includeds disabled or not. As this was never on the letters previously.

Thank you for providing feedback on your experience of Darlington Memorial Hospital and the problems you have had with parking.

I am very sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your experiences and we will make sure your comments are passed to the manager for this service.

We have checked with the Facilities Dept and as long as you are displaying a blue disabled badge you should not need to make any payments for parking.

We would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns with you and if you would like to contact us with your name and some more details it would enable the Matron/Manager to look into your concerns for you.
