"I was in for a bunion operation ..."

About: Furness General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was in for a bunion operation that had been postponed from December. On the day my admission time was postponed. On both occasions I was kept informed as much as possible, and this was much appreciated. I had an overnight stay, and the nurses were lovely, giving me as much pain relief as they could, and lots of cups of tea and coffee when I couldn't sleep. Thank you!

What could be improved

As the operation was postponed I didn't eat from 7am onwards on the day, and didn't get back to the ward after surgery until nearly 8pm. Not surprisingly I was very hungry. It was disappointing that the only food available was a couple of sandwiches made with spongy white sliced bread.
