"Left with a catheter and peeing everywhere"

About: The Tunbridge Wells Hospital

My husband was admitted twice to A&E in a couple of months due to a fall and mental health issue... Both times the staff, apart fromth senior staff nurse and doctor were really rude, unprofessional and left my husband is in real discomfort and no dignity what so ever... The first catheter he had fitted was the wrong size... When I informed the nurse they advised they had an emergency... Fine but could someone not see that he was in agony and had a puddle of urine beneath and that his clothes were soaked !? 45 mins passed and still nothing. He eventually had it removed after 3 times of asking... On the second admission, the wrong size catheter was fitted again! Because of this my husband had an infection and had to wait ages to have the right size fitted. And it was me who spotted the issue... Would a medical professional have done ? Yet again it was the staff nurses who let the side down. A nurse questioned my ability as a mother because I was not prepared to speak to social services... The attitude was 'Well if you choose to ignore it then it won't go away !' How disgusting. Anyway, I was so enraged by this I had a full blown argument with the person... They walked away. I went and spoke to their boss, the senior sister who said I should not have been spoken to like that and they were making it out to be a lot worse than it was... If only it was her I had spoke to previously. Ironically, other treatment received from this hospital in wards and other departments has been amazing but the A&E need to train their staff, especially the nurses on their bedside manner... If that had been better I would not have rated it this low
