"Very poor support, due to cuts"

I recently went to see a Dr at the Psychiatric service attached to the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

I am very upset.

I live with a number of serious health conditions, and have relied on support from this clinic for the past 14 years. I have had counselling on a number of occasions, over various periods of time. I also have a number of diagnosed psychological conditions which make life very difficult.

I waited 1 year to see this doctor. I have occasional meetings with my care co-ordininator, which are helpful to an extent. It's good that someone listens.

I asked for help from this doctor, and nothing is available. They have suggested that I pay from therapy from someone privately, but they cannot recommend anyone, or feels it is not their place to. A local charity was suggested, but I'm concerned that volunteers who have had some counselling training may do more harm than good.

There is so much to say, but briefly I am severely depressed and need help. I have turned to the Samaritans, and they have been great, but it's only a 'sticking plaster'.

The recent cuts in budgets mean that help is only available if I were a severe danger to myself or others.

I am in a lot of pain and just want to feel better.
