I cannot fault the level of nursing care or the cleanliness of the hospital. However, the dreadful parking system leaves a lot to be desired. The short access lanes into the multi-storey were blocked by parked cars so I had to drive around the outside car park for 17 minutes before finding a space. I had dropped my partner off at reception for a mammogram and by the time I got there I met her coming out.

The total time of my actual parking, including finding the machine and paying, was 6 minutes. The charge of £2 was ridiculously inappropriate..

Thank you for your kind comments about the nursing care your partner received and the cleanliness of the hospital.

However it was disappointing to read about the difficulties you had when trying to park and we should like to apologise for this.

The Trust is aware of the parking difficulties on site and this is mainly issues with capacity.

The Trust is taking measures to address these capacity issues and traffic officers actively manage the traffic flow at busy times, halting traffic from blocking the exit of the multi-storey to allow traffic to exit the site in order to free up space inside the car park and get the queue moving as well as redirecting vehicles to alternative areas on site to park.

We are sorry if there were no traffic officers available when you were experiencing difficulties.

The Trust is also taking measures to address the capacity issues which includes building a new multi-storey car park and reconfiguring space layout and this should improve the situation in the long term.

Once again please do accept our apologies for the difficulties you experienced.
