"My mother was treated with compassion and dignity"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford)

My 82 year old mother spent the last two weeks of her life in Yeo Ward. After a diagnosis is secondary breast cancer just over a year ago she has received excellent oncology treatment both in Cherrybrook and Yeo Ward. She lived a good quality of life at home during this period and was always treated with respect and dignity, the consultant always striving to treat her condition.

In the final two weeks, her End of Life care in Yeo was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff on the team.

A trip home to see her garden was arranged just days before her death and we have happy memories of her enjoying her afternoon in the sun.

I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they showed both to my mother and to all her visiting family through a very emotional time.
