I would like to say how friendly and efficient the staff on this ward were, nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the nurses on this ward.
We could laugh and joke but still I had very efficient care.
I felt well looked after and despite at times the nursing staff being rushed off their feet they still found the time to look after all of us with kindness and efficiency finding time somehow to answer and deal with anything we needed.
My only criticism would be regarding my food as my nutritionalist requested certain foods to be provided! this initially was done and then apparently forgotten for the next few days. I do not feel that this is necessarily a nursing issue as I think they did all they could to make sure the correct food was provided. Even the cleaning staff were friendly and joking with us. What a fabulous atmosphere.
I wish the same could be said for one of my consultants who appeared to be rushed and not thoroughly listening to my health problems, dismissive is the term I would use.
Since they only work there one day a week I think this was not necessarily a Good Hope Hospital problem as they were brilliant.
I would particularly like to mention the junior registrar as they couldn't have done any more for me.
So thank you to the nurses and the majority of staff that dealt with my care.
What a lovely ward to be on it is a shame it is only short stay.
I was unfortunately sent home with the same problem is I came in with although with advice from staff as to the best way to adjust to it, this now will be followed on by a different consultant, so again I would not say this hospital is to blame.
