"communication"

I arrived here in September 2015 with severe depression having self harmed.I was initially on a one to one.The one thing I asked for and which was really important to me was to be fully informed as to my day to day care, any changes that needed to occur etc..This didn't happen and my health suffered further as a result.I lost a lot of weight and yet when I mentioned this may be as a result of new medication they had put me on and despite asking I was never given any info on this and discovered once back at home that my medication can cause weight loss. There were issues with bullying which wasn't dealt with and patients felt unsafe.Policies and procedures were very woolly and inconsistent depending upon which staff were around at the time.Meetings were held every weekend for patients to express any concerns but there was little in the way of feedback following these meetings and the manager never attended these meetings.I had an excellent therapist and consultant but sadly the consultant left(we weren't told this was happening and only found out when we were face to face with a new consultant).I am surprised that the care quality commission havnt visited the priory as Nottingham safeguarding upheld a complaint of neglect in regards to my care and I wasn't the only patient to complain.I would strongly advise family to ask lots of questions to management and staff and not to dismiss the person who is having treatment simply because they have mental health issues .This doesn't mean that the patient is unable to convey real concerns in regards to their care.Take notice of your loved ones.
