"Dont go to A and E here"

About: New Cross Hospital

Had problems with my asthma and was bought in via ambulance, was shown into the waiting room where i sat for over 3 hours before being seen!! The waiting area was freezing cold and litter was scattered over chairs and the floor! When i was eventually seen, the doctor was very patronising, they asked what the problem was so i told them i had had a flare up of my asthma and had 'felt like i couldnt breathe so i called 111' to which they replied, if you can talk you can breath!' How rude,i am well aware I could still talk but as i have suffered from asthma for 32 years and experienced asthma attacks before i didnt want to reach the point where i couldnt speak before deciding that was a good moment to pick up the phone! I was made to feel like i was wasting their time even though i never come to A and E unless i feel i really need to, not to mention the fact that the paramedics bought me in after 111 had advised me to ring an ambulance!
