Nursing Staff are excellent
What could be improved
,I attended A&E with a throat obstruction after 5 hours I was moved to ward 12 then next day moved on again to ward 5,All this time I was on N B M and on a drip .On ward 5 I saw the ENT
Team who put me the emergency list for treatment that morning I was prepared for surgery I then waited for 5 hours and because of the stress of the wait i finally Signed myself out ,To be then told by the Doctor that I would not have had treatment until the next morning anyway .When I signed myself out I had been on NBM for 21 hours.After my first consultation with ENT team l did not again see any of the doctors to keep me updated, the only time saw the doctors and they where very abrupt was when I signed myself out
Anything else?
Flow of Patient needs to be more organised.
Keep the patient more informed about their treatment.
If a patient is given a timetable Keep to it to reduce stress
